Trying to follow the slow-motion demise of The U.S. of A. has turned me into Jo-Jo the idiot circus boy after being given an exploding cigar laced with a low grade nerve gas. It’s hard to make sense out of things when my neurons are winking out one by one like cheap Christmas tree lights. It’s a bad acid trip on every level I can think of.

On one hand we have a complete fraud as a president. While campaigning he presented himself as a force of change, but after being elected only changed things for the worse. Unless of course you’re talking about the members of the moneyed class. For those guys he did everything they asked him to except stop being a black guy.

.'Oil refiners have stopped buying oil from Iran,' was the headline today. Well, really just on the spot market. Two thirds of the Iranian oil that refiners buy is on long term contract, and they won’t give that up unless forced to by an EU embargo. China continues to buy oil and doesn’t accept anybody else’s opinion on the matter. They have been buying less Iranian oil lately, but this is reportedly because of a pricing dispute. Since 2/3 of Iran’s oil goes to the far east, it sounds like Iran’s only problem is getting full price. The price is going up, thanks to the US pressure on countries to not buy from Iran, so they could end up getting just as much for their oil as now, or more.

Iran’s biggest problem is really the threats made by the US against any foreign bank that does business with Iran’s banks. The banks who do so would be prohibited from doing business in the US, and this could make it hard for Iran to get paid for its oil. This could, in theory, include those huge Chinese banks in lower Manhattan. Obama might as well threaten the king of the moon. China will pay as much attention.

Another revisionist memoir is about to reach the book stores of America.  Condoleezza Rice, like several of her neocon cohorts, has written a memoir to salvage her legacy of deceit and duplicity as the nation's National Security Adviser and Secretary of State during the Bush/PNAC years.. Predictably, and with the complicity of reviewers in the corporate media, a near decade of shame and evil will morph into the benign portrait of an American champion of liberty and democracy in a nation that could afford her No Higher Honor.

That, understandably, is what revisionist historians do.

As a result, what will appear nowhere in the interviews, the critiques, or the articles that promote Rice's book will be her role in a major and highly secret group that was organized to sell an illegal, immoral and long-planned war to the unwitting people of America.  Nowhere in the promotional tour to sell her self-serving memoir will Condoleezza Rice be asked about the White House Iraq Group (WHIG), and her part in its criminal activity.

A third of million new jobs were created in January according to the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s household survey. This exceeds the quarter million job gain shown by the employer survey. Historically, these two surveys confirm one another except when unusual growth is seen. The household survey had been diverging from the employer survey by larger and larger numbers over the past year.

This divergence probably indicates exceptional growth in small business activity and among new entrepreneurs not adequately represented in the employer survey. This could be tied to the sharp growth in manufacturing jobs with 50,000 new workers added last month as reported by employers.

Now that we've been at war with the world for some time, it appears we've branched out, moved on to war with ourselves, cut our own throats for a while.

Seems to be all the rage, refusing to be on our own side.  How else to explain all the hurry-scurry to dismantle and strike down anything worker-and-union?  The panic at HQ when the "U" word is uttered -- well, it triggers arrhythmia, gets hearts all a-flutter.
