Israeli military to create 'plan' for Palestinians to leave Gaza Strip

Israel has plans to eject PalestiniansIsrael's defense minister said European nations that accused the country of disproportionate attacks in Gaza are "legally obligated" to accept Palestinian refugees as Middle Eastern countries rejected President Donald Trump's proposal to relocate all of the enclave's residents.

On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he directed Israel's defense forces to draw up "a plan that will allow any resident of Gaza who wishes to leave to do so, to any country willing to receive them." He said the army would provide "exit options via land crossings, as well as special arrangements for departure by sea and air."

Countries "such as Spain, Ireland, Norway, and others" that have accused Israel of disproportionate attacks on civilians and violations of laws governing war "are legally obligated to allow Gazans to enter their territory," he wrote on X.

TVNL Comment: Willl the world stand by as Israel completes its goal of ethnic cleansing in this land grab?  Yes they will.

Ukraine wants partner countries to join in postwar development worth billions

Russian attack against apartment buildingUkraine wants to collaborate with partner countries on postwar projects worth billions of dollars not just in mining rare earth elements, but also in energy and construction sectors to help rebuild the country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Wednesday.

Sybiha responded to comments by President Donald Trump who said Monday that he wanted to gain access to Ukraine’s valuable rare earth materials as a condition for continuing support for its war against Russia.

Ukrainian officials have said Russia wants to get its hands on Ukraine’s vast natural resources.

Kyiv intends to offer “guarantees of the presence of major businesses in Ukraine and the vested interests of our closest allies — the United States — in developing these (rare earth) deposits and ensuring their protection,” the foreign minister said.

Ukranian drone hits Russian oil refinery in week

Ukraine says its forces successfully hit an oil refinery in the Russian town of Kstovo, around 800 kilometres (500 miles) from the front lines in eastern Ukraine.

Four drones hit a Lukoil company depot, Ukrainian media said, adding that the facility suffered significant damage.

Videos posted on social media showed large flames rising over an industrial facility.

Regional governor Gleb Nikitin said that drone debris had fallen over the industrial zone, and that no casualties had been reported at the scene.

Separately, the governor of the region of Smolensk, Vasily Anokhin, said on Telegram that a "massive" drone attack against "civilian infrastructure" had occurred in his region, although no casualties were immediately reported.

Hamas Frees 4 Israeli Soldiers As Part Of Gaza Ceasefire In Exchange For 200 Prisoners

4 female prisoners freedFour female Israeli soldiers who had been held hostage by Hamas returned safely to Israel Saturday after the militants paraded them in front of a crowd of thousands in Gaza City and then handed them over to the Red Cross. In exchange, Israel released 200 Palestinian prisoners as part of the fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The four Israelis smiled broadly as they waved and gave the thumbs-up from a stage in Gaza City’s Palestine Square, militants on either side of them and a crowd of thousands watching before they were led off to waiting Red Cross vehicles. They were likely acting under duress, with previously released hostages saying they were held in brutal conditions and forced to record propaganda videos.

Taliban deputy tells leader there is no excuse for education bans on Afghan women and girls

Taliban deputy wants schools for girls and women

A senior Taliban figure has urged the group’s leader to scrap education bans on Afghan women and girls, saying there is no excuse for them, in a rare public rebuke of government policy.

Sher Abbas Stanikzai, political deputy at the Foreign Ministry, made the remarks in a speech on Saturday in southeastern Khost province.

He told an audience at a religious school ceremony there was no reason to deny education to women and girls, “just as there was no justification for it in the past and there shouldn’t be one at all.”

The government has barred females from education after sixth grade. Last September, there were reports authorities had also stopped medical training and courses for women.

Biden administration gives $500m to Ukraine in final military aid package

Polrovsk, Ukraine

The Biden administration has given its final injection of military support to Ukraine, unveiling a $500m weapons package just days before Donald Trump’s return to the White House threatens to upend western backing for Kyiv.

The aid bundle – including air defense missiles and F-16 fighter jet equipment – was announced on Thursday by outgoing US defense secretary Lloyd Austin during a summit at Germany’s Ramstein air base.

“Here is the fundamental truth: Ukraine’s fight matters to all of us,” Austin said. “Putin’s war is a challenge to free people everywhere.”

The announcement came as the White House scrambles to impose 11th-hour sanctions on Russia reportedly by week’s end, with Trump’s incoming Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg, already promising a swift resolution to the conflict within his first 100 days in office.
