U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday declared the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq a "successful endeavour" in a visit to Iraq that was overshadowed by a suicide bombing that killed at least 25 people.
"If you look back on those five years it has been a difficult, challenging but nonetheless successful endeavour ... and it has been well worth the effort," Cheney told a news conference in Baghdad after meeting Iraqi leaders.
TVNL Comment: For Cheny, this is a success. Disaster was the plan. Stealing Iraq's oil was the plan. Creating a situation where the US was forced into spending it's wealth to enrich Cheney's friends in the defense industry was the plan. Invading Iraq has been a success for the people who live on war. It is a success for Cheney.
Speaking on BBC1's Andrew Marr show, Mr Hague said "clarity" was needed on the future for Britain's deployment in Iraq.
"Bush's foreign policy has been a failure and it will be judged on Iraq. He will bear responsibility for an unnecessary and costly war that violated international law, alienated allies and distracted us from the core issues of terrorism, Afghanistan and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons.

TVNL Comment: Way before most Americans heard of the Taliban the Bush administration had a nice cozy relationship with those barbaric violators of Human rights. It is quite possible that in the history of mankind there has not been a more offensive group of people when it comes to the treatment of women, yet the Bush administration decided to give those barbarians $43 million of your money! This happened at a time when the Taliban overthrew the government of Afghanistan and they were not recognized as the legitimate governing body by any nation on Earth other than Pakistan. These were Bush's oil buddies and the Bush administration was working with them so that Bush's pals at Unical could get their oil pipeline built.
